Roulette Toronto, the 4th episode in Courtney Trouble’s critically acclaimed Roulette series, offers up a series of vignettes that provides a steamy window into the hott, kinky, genderfucking hotness that is Toronto, the city I call home.
Courtney brought together an amazing cast of queer porn stars from around the world, from LA’s April Flores to Paris’ Judy Minx. The chemistry and talent in these vignettes just blows my mind. Roulette Toronto was shot during Feminist Porn Awards week, an international celebration of amazing porn that happens every April in Toronto.
In this film I co-star with Jiz Lee and strapping porn newbie River Turner. Our rehearsal for our modern dance routine takes an improvisational turn for the wetter. This scene was literally shot the morning after the Feminist Porn Awards (where Jiz won Boundary Breaker of the Year and Courtney walked away with the award for Best Trans Film for Speakeasy). Queer Porn Never Sleeps!
As an ex modern dancer, it was an intense experience stepping back into a dance studio again. I definitely was reminded about how much I miss that medium. I know that for me, my dance training comes through in my porn as I don’t think I’d have the same awareness of my body in physical space had i not been a dancer. Working with Jiz and River, both of whom come from dance backgrounds as well, it was exciting to allow that connection to become a lot more obvious.
I previously worked with Courtney Trouble on Seven Minutes in Heaven 3 as well as being featured on her legendary before-its-time porn site NoFauxxx. Working with her on this, and helping out with securing space and equipment (including a ballet barre – which is *really* hard to find on a Saturday morning, just sayin) I have a new found and undying respect for anyone who produces porn. Its a lot of work, long before, and long after the cameras roll. Courtney also steps in front of the camera to be a drunken sleazy daddy to the rambunctious Judy Minx. So hott.
Secretly, I’m maybe most excited for the B-Roll. There was so much fun happening around the shooting of this film and the Feminist Porn Awards. Everywhere I went I remember assistant producer/director Tina Horn putting porn stars on the hot seat about making porn, about recognition and acclaim, and the rise of queer porn. Love me my introspection and sillyness as well as my sexin.
